CSW 66: Women leading in crises
To further discuss gender equality and the importance of women’s leadership, the PSCD will organize an event in the margins of the 66th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) to take place from the 14-25 March 2022. The event is being organized in coordination with the CoD Working Group on Women and Democracy (WGWD). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and UN regulations regarding the organization of side-events in the margins of the CSW66, the event will be carried out in a hybrid modality in the premises of the Permanent Mission of Lithuania to the United Nations in New York City. The hybrid event will feature a panel discussion with interviewees from the “Women Leading in Crises” series and invite women leaders of pro-democracy movements, high-level representatives of international organizations, think-tanks, civil society and private sector. Alongside a discussion about the unique qualities that women leaders bring to the table, the discussion will seek to share their perspectives on leading in crises as well as examine the influence that female leaders have on their organizations, movements, countries – and the impact that leadership roles can have on the women who hold them.
The side-event will additionally provide an opportunity to promote the interview series among the audience of New York City based organizations working on gender-equality related issues as well as UN diplomatic missions and representatives.
This webinar wil take place on Wednesday 23 March 2022, at 9:00 am (EDT).
